About

Hello, my name is Simon and I am the owner of Cambridge Foodies.

We are a blog based on the Facebook group communities The Cambridge Foodies, The Cambridge Curry Community, Cambridge Pubs, and Craft Beer In Cambridgeshire. We love to share experiences, write reviews, post recipes, and report on the latest news in our fine county of Cambridgeshire.

We aim to keep reviews simple, quick to reference, and with limited waffle, so you are able to read about what a restaurant has to offer without having to scroll through the authors life story. We even offer advertising packages which are mostly funded through our Facebook groups, so you do not have to suffer adverts while reading the blog.

Monsoon – Brick Lane (2013)

It all started 12 years ago with The Cambridge Curry Community. This was a group originally made for a small group of friends to arrange meet up’s for a curry and a few papadums. Over the years, the group has slowly grown and has now hit thousands of members!

In 2021, my friends Sean, Daniel, and I decided to make a group called Cambridge Foodies with a focus on all different types of food within Cambridgeshire rather than just focusing on Indian cuisine. It was clear from the moment we set up that we had grossly underestimated the need for a solid foodie community in Cambridge. The group has not only caught up with The Cambridge Curry Community but exceeded its membership within 6 months!

Now we have people from all over the world in our communities, whether its local Cambridge people looking for advice on where to eat out, people sharing their favourite places in the area to eat, or restaurant owners looking to directly engage with their customers and show us why they are the best place to dine!

All the best content from all 4 Facebook groups will be posted on here, including a lot of exclusive content too. Keep an eye on the site over the next few months as we add more and more!

The idea behind our communities is that they are a bottom up, meaning it will include pieces from all sorts of different people from within our community – so opinions will be diverse and ever changing. If you would like to post a piece on the blog then please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

If you are new here then feel free to click on the logo below which will take you to the groups which interest you. Everyone is welcome!

You’ll notice some groups take themselves less seriously than others!
