The Graduate – Cambridge

It was my step dad’s birthday this weekend so we decided to go out for a wonderful meal at The Cambridge Chop House. Afterwards, we headed to a bar which he had wanted to show me for some time – The Graduate.

This used to be the old Hilton hotel which goes along the Mill Pond. It’s perfectly located and a ideal place to sit outside in the summer by the river.

A thing of beauty.

What makes this place stand out however is it’s absolutely stunning bar. I mean…look at it! This is only the whisky selection too, the other equally sized gin bar is across the other side.

If you are a big whisky drinker then you are spoiled for choice. This even puts The Poets House to shame.

It’s also worth noting that they had a great selection of beers on tap, including one of my favourite Japanese beers, Kirin.

I didn’t get a chance to take many photos but this quick snap gives you an idea of the style of the bar. High class, traditional, and classic. Perfectly suited for a place to savour a whisky.

I must admit, this is very much my kinda bar. There were a few whiskies I saw which I had not tried before yet I had on my radar, so I look forward to coming back in the future and really investigating when I have more time.
