Uncle Paul – Greek On The Street πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·

It was a bustling Friday afternoon at Ely’s Foodie Friday. I had never been before, so I was keen to see what was on offer.

There was so much choice with many popular food vans available, including Hit Wrap, Brazilian Flavours Street Kitchen, and Al Chile.

One place which stood out for me however was Uncle Paul – Greek On The Street. The team here serves Greek gyros kebabs which makes a nice change from the Turkish Kebabs which are usually available.

Greek food doesn’t have enough representation on the foodie scene in my opinion, especially in Ely, so it was good to finally have an option.

There wasn’t a huge selection on the menu. It was mostly an assortment of kebabs with different meats. There was a choice between pork, chicken, sausage, mixed, and halloumi.

Being completely off the wagon, I went for the pork kebab. It came with chips, grilled pita bread, onion, tomato, and tzatziki sauce. The chips were covered in herbs and spices which made them exceptionally delicious.

The portions were fair for Β£8. You wont get the same huge quantities like you do from a trashy Saturday night kebab house but the meat is noticeably higher quality and far less greasy.  I was also pleased to see two pita bread slices (one not pictured above) which made it incredibly filling. You won’t be eating this and feeling hungry.

I selflessly forced myself to have a bite of baklava for the sake of this review πŸ˜‚. This is a sweet pilo pastry dish served with syrup and nuts. It came to Β£2.70, which I thought was very reasonable. The slices are much bigger than they appear in the photo and I was able to share this with my son without feeling like we came up short. This is one of my favourite desserts in the world, I simply cannot recommend this enough!

More Greek On The Street please! Lots more! πŸ‘
