Hitwrap – the Grazing Yard Thursdays @ the Gog Magog Farm Shop

Grazing Thursday is a weekly event held at the Gog Magog Farm Shop. Every Thursday, they host a selection of food vans from 5-8pm. It is a great opportunity to sample some new and exciting eats while taking in the serene Cambridgeshire countryside.

Lalbagh Indian Restaurant, Bourn

It’s great to be back on this side of Cambridge! Living out in the Fens means I rarely get to visit this area, so I was really looking forward to coming back.

Today presented a delightful dilemma as both Hitwrap and Tibet Flavour were on hand, both offering their distinct takes on Asian cuisine. As frequent readers know, I am a huge fan of Tibet Flavour, but it had been far too long since my last visit to Hitwrap. The allure of their Hong Kong Street Food proved impossible to resist, so I decided it was about time to pay them another visit.

The Menu

Hitwrap’s motto, “health in the wrap,” isn’t just a catchy phrase but a commitment to food made with less oil, salt, and sugar. This dedication to healthier street food clearly resonates, as evidenced by the long queue of eager foodies looking for guilt-free indulgence during my visit.

Living the foodie lifestyle has slowly been catching up with me over the years so this simple yet powerful idea really spoke to me on a personal level too.

Authentic Italian, Mill Road

The menu at Hitwrap is refreshingly straightforward and streamlined, featuring their signature teppanyaki noodles, a tempting selection of snacks, classic dim sum, and, of course, their iconic wraps. With prices for the noodles and wraps hovering around £8-£8.50, it’s a very reasonable price for a healthy meal.

Teppanyaki Noodles

By this point, my guest and I were absolutely ravenous, so we wasted no time in ordering the teppanyaki noodles. I opted for the beef, while she chose the duck, and thankfully, the portions were a good size.

I was genuinely impressed by the depth of flavour in these noodles. It was a firm reminder that great taste doesn’t require excessive salt, sugar, or oil. Both the duck and beef were deliciously juicy, with the beef notably soft and chunky.

Dim Sum

The Siu Mai Dim Sum on the menu looked utterly irresistible. These unassuming steamed packages of minced pork truly surprised me with a burst of wonderfully succulent flavour. It was like there was a party in my mouth! 🤩

Bubble Tea

To round off the meal, I washed down my noodles and dim sum with a perfectly cold cup of bubble tea. Its sweet, milky taste was exactly what the doctor ordered, and the tapioca pearls (or boba) added a delightful chewiness that was as fun as it was delicious!

Guilt free indulgence

Sushi & Salad, Ely

My visit to Hitwrap was a clear demonstration that healthy eating doesn’t have to compromise on taste or enjoyment. The substantial queue I encountered was evidence that their health-first philosophy resonates with so many people. It is a testament to the fact that delicious food can indeed be synonymous with nutritious food. Hitwrap successfully bridges the gap between wellness and flavour, making healthy eating an appealing and accessible choice for all.

But even if you don’t give a crap about eating healthy, it is still damn good food.
