Massala – Cambridge

Massala has only been open a year and has already made a good name for itself. During my last review it had only just opened and I was very impressed with its balance of quality and value.

With other gems close by, such as Royal Spice, The Meghna, and The Banana Leaf, I was anxious about whether it could survive in such a competitive area…but here we are!

One thing which always stood out for me here was the saag aloo. It’s exactly how I like it and was a very generous portion for a side.

We ordered a chicken Rogan Josh with mushroom rice. My wife thought it was really tasty with very tender chicken. The lamb jalfrezi was also executed well.

I decided to go for something a little different from my usual super hot vindaloo. I have heard good things on The Cambridge Curry Community about their tandoori mixed grill, so thought I would give it a try.

Everything was delicious and done to a fantastic quality, I certainly was not disappointed. I was a particular fan of their chicken and kebab. The meat quality was excellent.

We grabbed a few naan’s while we were at it. During my last visit I was a big fan of their garlic naan. This was no different. Big, fluffy, and light. Just as they should be! πŸ‘

I’m a big fan of Masala. It’s an excellent all round Indian takeaway which never fails to disappoint. I can definitely see why it’s managed to hold its own surrounded by so many other competitors. If you are ever in the area make sure to check them out!
