Biscotti Di Debora – The Sweet Life in Dry Drayton

The Biscotti Di Debora Instagram page has been teasing me for some time, with their enticing posts of incredible cakes and gourmet doughnuts.

One sunny Saturday afternoon, I decided to take the plunge and finally experience the Italian bakery, run by award winning baker, Debora Bonnes.

Biscotti Di Debora specialises in cakes (including wedding cakes), desserts, and gourmet doughnuts.

Located in Dry Drayton Industries (just off the A428) they are open on a Saturday from 10am(ish) till 4pm. You can make orders through their website for wedding cakes and deliveries but to be able to visit them in their bakery you will need to make yourself available on the Saturday.

Their dessert selection

The bakery is limited to gourmet doughnuts and desserts but you are spoiled for choice with options.

Everything comes to £4 each. Initially, I thought this was quite expensive, especially when you consider the average size, but once you indulge you understand why this is.

I’ll stop blabbing and let you drool over these stunning pieces of art before I explain why…

Triple chocolate – £4
Custard cream – £4
Roche – £4
Raspberry ripple – £4
Vanilla – £4 each
Biscoff – £4 each
Cinnamon roll – £4

These are, as is clearly explained – gourmet. Biscotti Di Debora is for special occasions, that rare treat, or taking a moment by yourself to sit down and truly appreciate what you are eating. This is a culinary experience, a delicacy, the finer things in life. If you want to fill your mouth hole with a pack of 5 doughnuts without chewing then look elsewhere!

You know you want this!

My personal favourite was the Biscoff but the Triple Chocolate was also delicious. Both were absolutely packed in the middle and were so rich that I could have been happily satisfied with one (though that’s not what happened, obviously). I didn’t get to try the raspberry ripple myself but it looked absolutely incredible just by looking at it. My wife had the tiramisu which she said she enjoyed.

I was visiting family, so I decided to order one of every gourmet doughnut, a cinnamon bun, and a tiramisu. Debora was a delightful lady and couldn’t do enough for me. She wrapped up everything in easy to carry boxes, so I didn’t have to worry about them being damaged (or eaten 😂) on the way home.

Biscotti Di Debora is well worth the short trip out of Cambridge. It’s an easy drive with lots of parking options in the estate. Unless you are planning to order, you’ll need to make sure you are available on Saturday but you’ll be rewarded with a warm and friendly service and a wide selection of doughnuts that will send you into a pleasure coma. They also make great gifts and treats for friends and family.

Make sure to check out their Instagram page here.
