I was invited by the team at Baron to sample their menu. Located in the Lion Yard, they offer handy little pit stop by offering a selection of sweet treats to help you power through the busy shopping season.

Upon entering, you notice a relaxed cafe atmosphere. It is cosy and comfortable with some tables along the window for people watching. B Tap Baron also celebrates the pre-eminent scientific minds from Cambridge, such as Darwin and Turing with numerous items on the menu names after them.

We ordered a milkshake and a bubble tea. Both drinks are made fresh to order. My sister was a big fan of her milkshake, which I must admit, I tried myself and had to agree with her excitement. My bubble tea was also refreshing and really hit the spot.

I had the Turing waffle (right). This consists of caramel gelato, banana, chocolate drops, and Nutella. They also offer a wide range of toppings, so I added Smarties š¤£

My sister had the Darwin (left), which consists of chocolate gelato, bananas, Smarties, and whipped cream.
All waffles are apparently derived from a special recipe made by a Japanese scientist, which is supposed to make them extra light and fluffy. š¤·āāļø I’m not too sure what that means but I cannot argue with results. The waffles are indeed as light as they come and come out very crispy and soft.

B Tap Baron has proven itself to be a great little pit stop in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Lion Yard and Grand Arcade. Everything sampled today was done really well and the service is friendly. This is an accessible place for all ages and is worth a visit even if you just fancy a cup of coffee.
š¶ It is also dog friendly with their own little dog mascot often patrolling the cafe. Unfortunately, he was not in for our visit, so I could not get a good photo with him.

Thanks for reading
