Mina Steakhouse’s 6th birthday!

“AD” – Why is this here?

I can’t believe it has been six years since Mina Steakhouse first opened its doors. It has always been a unique fixture in Cambridge, offering a distinct blend of contemporary steakhouse dining and high-energy nightclub vibes.

As a big fan of experiential restaurants, I have always been a supporter of spots that offer an experience rather than just a meal.

But it isn’t just about the steaks here; they serve everything from extravagant milkshakes that border on desserts and vibrant mocktails to sushi and seafood boils, which can be hard to find elsewhere in the city.

I was excited to be invited to the 6th birthday celebration, as Jay from Mina always knows how to put on a show. We arrived to find the infamous rose wall, the luminous bar, and a highly professional team who gave us a warm welcome. With a DJ playing and a fire dancer performing between sets, the atmosphere was electric. I was eager to see what the new menu had in store.

The Starters

We were lucky enough to try everything from the starter menu, and it was a total slam dunk. The Dynamite Prawns were big, juicy, and slathered in a thick, creamy sauce. The Tandoori Chicken Wings – a dish that doesn’t usually excite me – were actually incredible. The chicken was meaty and tender with a lovely flavour that really impressed me. However, the stars of the show were the marinated lamb chops.

They practically jumped off the table with a beautiful red colour, followed by a smoky grilled flavour. These bad boys are an absolute MUST if you are thinking of visiting. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

The Mains

I couldn’t resist the pull of the lamb shank. This behemoth was served with mashed potato and broccoli, all covered in a rich gravy. It had been slow-cooked to the point where the meat simply pulled apart, rendering the steak knife more decorative than essential.

The Desserts

I ended the night with a tiramisu, which arrived served atop gentle clouds of liquid nitrogen drifting from the plate. It was a sight to behold. Since the first bite is always with the eye, the presentation set the dish up with an excitement and optimism that the flavours fully delivered on. The waiter then doused the dessert in coffee, combining everything into a delicious, theatrical take on the classic Italian dessert.

A night only Mina Steakhouse could do

If this hasn’t convinced you to drop everything and run to Mina Steakhouse, then get this: they have just launched a monthly competition offering one lucky customer a free HOLIDAY! You could come for the steak and leave with a trip to Qatar.😂 This competition runs every single month.

Here is to six more years!
