Simon says: The best food vans in Cambridgeshire (Updated: 2026)

If you are looking for a list of hand-picked food vans in Cambridgeshire, then look no further!

I have been around the block a few times when it comes to food vans and I wanted to share some of my favourites in the Cambridgeshire area.

* This is an opinion piece. I can only comment on the vans I have visited. This list will be updated frequently, as I visit more. If you think I’ve missed one then don’t hesitate to email me here.

Enjoy!

Bagel Or Biegel

Bagel or Beigel at Ely Market is a masterclass in the “dirty” salt beef sandwich. A small family business that bakes in small batches, they famously warn customers that they add too much meat – a problem I am more than happy to have. The Dirty Reuben is a beast of a dish, loaded with homemade salt beef, pickles, and sauerkraut, all grilled until the Swiss cheese is perfectly melted. Despite the mountain of filling, the structural integrity of the bagel is top-notch. Throw in some classic market banter from the owner and you have one of the most characterful and filling meals in the county.

The Pasta Bar

Pasta doesn’t usually excite me, but The Pasta Bar really took me by surprise. It proves that high-end Italian classics can work perfectly from a van. Their short rib bolognese is out of this world, featuring pappardelle ribbons in a slow-braised sauce so rich and meaty that I was thinking about it for days. For something truly unique, you have to try the fried lasagne bites; they are crispy, golden squares of joy that offer a clever and delicious twist on a classic.

Buffalo Joe’s 🍔

Impossibly crispy chicken with candied bacon

Buffalo Joe’s is currently top of my Cambridge burger ranking…and for good reason!

Their chicken burgers are big, crispy, sweet, and delicious. It’s everything you want from a burger and more!

Manna Seoul 🇰🇷

Korean style corn dogs (or k-dogs) are such a unique find in Cambridge and a lot of fun too. For those of you who have no idea what they are, these are frankfurters on a stick, covered in cheese, and then coated in batter before being deep fried. Simple, easy, and fun. The husband and wife team, Ian and Lan, are both full of contagious positive energy and have poured their heart and soul into this project and it clearly shows.

Well worth a visit!

Guerilla Kitchen

The feastie boy set

Guerilla Kitchen offers Japanese style steamed bao buns. There aren’t many places you can find these around Cambridge, so it’s always worth visiting if they are in the area.

Steak & Honour 🍔

The “some like it hot” burger

Steak & Honour are the king of food vans in Cambridge. You’ll find them all over the place and they now have a permanent base at Northstowe’s Tap & Social.

Quite simply, they do epic burgers which contain 120g of pasture-fed Norfolk beef with Grain Culture milk buns.

Nuff said!

Gino’s Pizza 🍕

Gino’s Pizza really took me by surprise when I first visited. Not just because the pizza dough is beautifully soft, the mozzarella cheese is nice and stringy, and the San Marzano tomatoes are filled with flavour – but also their great value. At the time of writing, this pizza only cost £10 (with most pizzas averaging £12-16). What a bargain!

Pigcasso 🐽

Hilarious name aside, Pigcasso offers the juiciest, most succulent, and packed pulled pork burgers you will find. But it is more than just cramming pork, they truly understand the art of providing a bun that can hold it all together without it collapsing. ☯️

Pimp My Fish 🍟🐟

Their cod and chips – slavered in their zesty curry sauce

This AWARD WINNING fish and chip van offers sustainably sourced cod and double fried chips. Their zesty curry sauce blew me away during my visit and has left me thinking about it constantly ever since. When combined, it offers a top fish and chips experience hard to match anywhere else.

Tibet Flavour

Tibet Flavour is a truly unique food experience in Cambridgeshire with nothing else like it in the county. Their ‘combo meal option’ for £10 offers a bit of everything from their menu, which is great for someone looking to explore Tibetan cuisine. It’s delicious, a colourful feast, and a surprisingly balanced meal all in one.

Higgsy’s 🍔

Located in a small shack just off the A1(M) near Yaxley, Higgsy’s looks very much like any other truck stop burger joint but this couldn’t be any further from the truth. Their Redneck style burgers are the embodiment of indulgence, with a huge double smash burger patty, beef Frankfurter hotdogs, four slices of cheese, and double streaky bacon.

A truly original find in Cambridgeshire!

Wrapunzel

The new kids on the block. Wrapunzel takes the iconic Yorkshire pudding, stuffs it with the key ingredients of a Sunday roast, and wraps it up…it’s just that simple but my word – it’s delicious!

Scotties scotch eggs

Everyone loves a scotch egg and these are some of the best I have ever tasted!

Expect unusual yet equally exciting takes on the classic dish, such as mac n cheese, black pudding, and my personal favourite, smoked haddock, potato and leek.

The choices change all the time, so there is plenty of reason to go back again and again.

Between Buns

I was simply blown away by my recent visit to Between Buns. Their French Canadian burger consists of two 3oz beef chuck patties with maple glazed bacon, crispy onions, brie AND American cheese, all held together in an epic seeded bun that didn’t faulter throughout the entire meal, despite being absolutely loaded!
