Scotties Hot Scotch Eggs – Ely Market ðŸ‡¬ðŸ‡§

Today, I fell in love with a scotch egg…

Many of you are probably unaware that I had a “crap scotch egg league table” a while back to rank the supermarket scotch eggs in order of preference. I’m not really sure why I did it and I must admit, I have no real urge to finish it.

The lesson I learned from my short lived and half hearted journey was that even the deli supermarket scotch eggs rarely cut it, especially after visiting Scotties Hot Scotch Eggs.

A single scotch egg is around £5.50. They are fresh to order but I was lucky to catch one which had only just been made 5 minutes ago, so I didn’t have to wait.

I was absolutely encapsulated by the idea of the “haddock, potato, and spring onion” option, as it was something which, quite frankly, I would never have thought would go well with a scotch egg, so I decided to give it a go for curiosities sake.

You know how some food looks amazing just by looking at it? This was one of those occasions.

There were a couple of scotch eggs on display to give you an idea of what they were like before buying. The ones in the front are the haddock and potato ones I had ordered and they looked absolutely fantastic. Look at that filling!

Upon ordering, my fresh ones looked even better than the ones on display but with an even thicker filling. I can safely say that the £5.50 was worth every penny.

The egg was just the right amount of runny without it being too gooey. I couldn’t recommend these enough! I will never be able to go back to a supermarket scotch egg again!

Life is getting too expensive! 😂

Thanks for reading!

Update:

I popped back to sample their new potato and bacon scotch egg. This bad boy cost the same £5.50 and was nearly as delicious as the last one. What I like about these is that they are a perfect belly filling snack which can really save you between meals while shopping in Ely.
