Mr Wang Hotpot
Mr Wang Hotpot stands proud on Regent Street with it’s bright yellow exterior but inside offers one of the most customisable dining experiencing Cambridge. Select from nearly 100 different items from their huge fridge to combine into one large bubbling hot pot. Expect everything from your usual Chinese classics to rather unusual items like frogs legs and tripe. This is a great way for foodies to explore Chinese cuisine.

De Luca
De Luca is an absolute institution in Cambridge that has been running for decades. Not only will you get a great meal but the chance to join the piano bar upstairs after dinner. De Luca also offers great value for the quality you receive.

The Tiffin Truck may very well be my favourite on the list, offering traditional Indian cuisine and street food. It is a beautiful restaurant with lots of colour and space for any number of people.

Ji, The Chicken Shop
This Taiwanese fried chicken chain is well known for letting its customers customise the seasoning, with a wide variety of options. There is more than just chicken though, with tofu, squid, and a selection of bubble teas and desserts available.

Kung Woo
No website, opening times are merely a suggestion, and to be honest, it could really do with a good clean, but Kung Woo offers some of the most authentic Northern Chinese hotpots in the city. Better still, you can cook them yourself at your table. This is one of the undisputed hidden secrets of Cambridge.

The Grain & Hop Store
Try the ‘Homage 2 Fromage’ cheese nights at the Grain & Hop Store. This is a monthly event set in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with a wide range of cheeses from different parts of the world.

Two Treasures
Recently opened Two Treasures offers some of the best ramen noodles in the city. Made fresh and hand stretched in front of your very eyes, these noodles will simply blow you away and you can even order a slow cooked beef rib for that crowning jewel.

Yori
Not technically Regent Street but it is on that same stretch of road. Yori is a Korean chain restaurant that serves BBQ and imported Korean products. I am a big fan of their Yori Platter that has a bit of everything from rib eye steak to king prawns.

Chickeez is the newest restaurant to the Regent Street scene, offering a wide variety of dishes in a colourful and fun environment. Whatever you fancy, they’ll have you covered! Including, a selection of locally sourced craft beer and juices.

Charlie Chan
Charlie Chan is a Cambridge institution. In fact, it is one of the oldest restaurants in the city. By offering a wide selection of Chinese dishes, you can find pretty much anything you are looking for. Come take a visit and see why it has lasted the test of time.

Slim Chickens
Slim Chicken is new to the scene but is already creating a lot of buzz with their American style, 12-hour marinated, buttermilk fried chicken. Unlimited soda, great views of Parker’s Piece, and American TV on display are just a few of the things to get excited about and that’s before we mention the food!

Yim Wah 🇨🇳
Not technically on Regent Street but right on the corner, just opposite the Catholic church. Yim Wah has been impressing locals and tourists alike with it’s traditional Chinese cuisine. Everything we had during our visit was executed perfectly and left us scratching our head trying to find fault.
Type: Textbook classic Chinese
Make sure you try: The set menu, to sample a bit of everything for a flat fee.

Oak Bistro
Located on the corner of Lensfield Road, Oak Bistro offers a fine dining experience like no other. Try their beef wellington in the al fresco garden with a dedicated dessert wine paired to your choice of pudding.

The Parkers Tavern
Dine in front of stunning views of Parkers Piece in this beautiful historic hotel. Reminiscent of Mayfair, this timeless old-English experience will take you back to a time when service was proper and food is familiar.

1+1 Rougamo
Cambridge’s first Xi’an restaurant has been serving up authentic dishes since 2018. Whether you’re sitting in for a bowl of hand-pulled noodles or grabbing a rougamo (also known as a Chinese burger) on your way to work, they’ve got you covered. From classic dumplings to chicken feet, it is all made fresh and full of flavour.
